313 Snow Dome Brings a White Christmas to Singapore

Design Competition to Bri­ng Winter Landscape to Life

Singapore, 27 September 2011 

– A beautiful white Christmas comes to 313@somerset this year.

The popular Orchard Road shopping mall will bring snow into its Atrium, complete with chills and thrills, in a specially constructed 313 Snow Dome that replicates an authentic winter experience for its shoppers and brings to life a winter landscape in the tropics.

And the first of a kind giant snow dome is only part of the innovative campaign.

The Snow Dome’s creators – 313@somerset – are asking Singaporeans to design their own Christmas winter fantasy.

The winning design will be the used as the inspiration of the actual interior layout of the 100 square-metre Snow Dome at the shopping mall’s Atrium on Level 1 from 9 to 24 December.

The contest aims to find a contemporary vision of a white Christmas, viewed through the eyes of Singaporeans who have spent their lives celebrating the festive season in the tropical heat.

The winner of the competition stands to win $3,000 in cash and shopping vouchers, and also the opportunity to be the first person to experience the unique winter fantasy.

The 313 Snow Dome Interior Design Contest Entry Form can be downloaded from http://www.313somerset.com.sg and there is no limit to the number of entries. 

Closing date for entries is 31 October.
